God-Complex

In Mesoamerican studies, a god-complex is a historical lineage or conglomeration of closely related Gods from different cultures or even the same culture. These Deities may simply be different names for the same God, aspects of the same God, the result of local syncretism, or different, but closely related Gods. Debate might exist as to how a God might relate to the other Gods within the complex, and personal interpretations might vary among practitioners.
